School of Electrical Engineering

Qualification: N. Diploma in Electrical Engineering SAQA ID: 90674

Qualification Description

The Electrical engineering programme is the study and application of electricity, in day-to-day life, from home to industrial use. Electrical Engineers study the uses of electricity and equipment for power generation and distribution. The field of electrical engineering is very dynamic and complex and this involves the planning design, construction and maintenance of electric system. This programme covers the knowledge of general principle of electricity, electromagnetism, induction, capacitors, DC and AC machines, DC and AC current, measuring Instruments and powers system automation.

Practical Skills Training

Practical training is a very important component in the Electrical engineering education. at MGM-DETC we prepare our students / learners for workplace and professional life at early stages. We believe that practical experience is a desirable characteristic for engineers, we have put great effort to establish a relationship with privates’ entities to provide student / learners in variety of field where students can practice to prepare them for the future professional life.
Electrical engineering is essentially a practical career where the theoretical knowledge has to be always accompanied by practical applications. Therefore, the training comprise 2 parts:
– A period of 12 months instructional training followed by an intense 14 months technological training, using the state-of-the-art technology which is not found in many institutions, before going to the field for;
– A period of 10 months to qualify for the prestigious qualification of national Diploma.

Our Students do not Struggle to get practical training, from admission to the issuance of National Diploma, The College is in charge
