School of Civil Engineering

Qualification: N. Diploma in Civil Engineering SAQA ID: 90674

Qualification Description

Civil engineering is a discipline that imposes it influences in almost every aspect of modern human life. Often, people have a narrow understanding of the civil engineering, limiting it at roads and building construction however, civil engineering is very wide and sometimes, its scope extend into Mechanical engineering and other disciplines. Much   of modern infrastructure around is part of civil engineering. Civil engineering scope entails the planning, design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure, for example buildings, dams, bridges, roads, pipelines, railways, tunnels and environment.

Civil engineering has an impact on the safety and quality of life; this simply implies that civil engineering carries serious consequences and responsibilities in the communities more than any other engineering discipline.

Education at MGM-DETC will provide students in civil engineering with solid foundation and fundamental knowledge. MGM-DETC provide an instructional training accompanied with a practical training to produce highly skilled civil engineers and designers. Join MGM-DETC and build a better world.

Practical Skills Training

Practical training is a very important component in the civil  engineering education. at MGM-DETC we prepare our students / learners for workplace and professional life at early stages. We believe that practical experience is a desirable characteristic for engineers, we have put great effort to establish a relationship with privates’ entities to provide student / learners in variety of field where students can practice to prepare them for the future professional life.
Civil engineering is essentially a practical career where the theoretical knowledge has to be always accompanied by practical applications. Therefore, the training comprise 2 parts:
a period of 12 months instructional training followed by an intense 14 months technological training, using the state-of-the-art technology which is not found in many institutions, before going to the field for a period of 10 months to qualify for the prestigious qualification of national Diploma.

Our Students do not Struggle to get practical training, from admission to the issuance of National Diploma, The College is in charge
